Training
Practical learning sessions that help workers, volunteers and leaders understand responsibilities, recognise hazards and make safer decisions.
Helping small organisations stay safe
Health and safety support should not be out of reach for organisations doing important work. NZ SAFE offers selected training and consultancy support to businesses, community groups and not-for-profit organisations that need practical guidance but cannot currently afford a health and safety professional.
Ask about Giving Back supportPractical support
Some organisations want to do the right thing but do not have the budget, resources or in-house expertise to get started. The Giving Back programme is designed to help those organisations understand their duties, identify real risks and take sensible, achievable action.
Support may include training, a site walk-through, advice sessions, simple tools, or a short piece of consultancy work. The focus is always practical: clear steps, plain language and outcomes that help people work safer.
This support is intended for organisations with a genuine need. If you cannot currently afford professional health and safety assistance, tell us about your organisation, your situation and the difference support would make.

How the process works
Share who you are, what you do, the safety challenge you are facing and why paid support is not currently affordable.
NZ SAFE considers the need, the likely benefit and whether the request is a good fit for the Giving Back programme.
If selected, we agree what support will be provided, what is included and what practical outcomes are expected.
The goal is to leave you with clear next steps so your organisation can keep improving safety with confidence.
Get in touch and tell us about your organisation, the support you need and how it would help. Please include any important timeframes, locations or upcoming activities.
